TRISULI – Nepal’s Most Popular Rafting River
2 Days/overnight at Trisuli Centre

NB  ONE DAY RAFTING TRIPS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. 
Just above The Trisuli Centre is the confluence of Budhi Gandaki with Trisuli and the seasonal variations of their combined water volume decides which section of The Trisuli (above or below the confluence) a One Day trip is to raft.  Monsoon and post Monsoon (Jul-Oct) the upper section is usually ‘run’ and the lower section from Nov-Jun.

Big bouncy waves, hefty holes, and tricky chutes all go towards making an exhilarating ride to remember with a combination of Grade II+ and III+ rapids with some IV’s in the post-monsoon season….rapids such as ‘Snell’s Nose’, ‘Teen Devi’, ‘Ladies Delight’, ‘Upset’ and the aptly named ‘Surprise’ rapid.

This fun river and its green valley are just 2½ hours from Kathmandu.  Our overnight is at The Trisuli Centre tented camp at Big Fig Beach, certainly the choicest spot….Bar-B-Que, candle light and camaraderie.  The following day rafting continues until lunch, before onward transport to Bandipur, Pokhara, Chitwan or Kathmandu.

DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY – Featuring The Trisuli Centre & Big Fig Beach – See ‘Rural Heritage’ Dossier

Day 1
0700 Meet at Himalayan Encounters, Courtyard of Kathmandu Guest House.  Breakfast en-route
0730  Depart Kathmandu and drive via a scenic highway as your conquest, the Trisuli River, appears alongside the highway.
1000  Arrive Baireni, the ‘put-in’ point and meet crew.  Safety talk and demonstration of equipment.
1045  Commence rafting.
1200  Lunch.
1330  Recommence rafting.  Encounter rapids such as ‘Teen Devi’ and ‘Monkey’, amongst others (mostly – grade III).
1600  Float down to the confluence of Trisuli and Budhi Gandaki; and then little further to the camp site at The Trisuli Centre and Big Fig Beach for overnight camp.
1900  Dinner
Day 2
0700  Wake-up call followed by tea and coffee
0800  Time to explore the serenity of the 'Garden of Streams‘. Nearby stands a wonderful Banyan. To us it’s simply the BIG FIG. 50 or more aerial roots nurture this huge tree of legendary age. Visitors are awe-struck by its gigantic yet gentle size, its sheer beauty and its powerful karma.
0930  Breakfast
1000  Raft for 3-4 hrs. Thrilling Grade IV rapids- such as ‘Upset’, ‘Monsoon’ and ‘Seti Beni’.  Early afternoon arrival at our ‘take-out’ point, Kuringhat.
1330  Lunch
1430 Pack-up gear then proceed via road to Pokhara, Chitwan or return to Kathmandu.  EXPEDITION ENDS.
